Kerrigan signing should be immediate

July 20, 2011

Given what we presume will be the new rookie signing structure, it should be a quick, smooth ride for The Redskins to sign DE Ryan Kerrigan from Purdue. It appears that if rookies want free agency to apply to their 4th year, then a deal needs to be completed by the end of Pre-season. Being that the NFL year will practically kick off with Pre-season, picks like Kerrigan should be more motivated to get signed and get playing.

You’d think all picks would follow this formula, but we can’t help but wonder if Cam Newton’s dad will want to play a little poker with Carolina, just to see what he can get.

Even better for The Skins, Kerrigan is regarded, even for a young guy, as a Team first, blue collar worker on the field. Additionally, coming from a school who’s mantra is “BOILER-UP”, you’d think that The Kerrigan camp wants to make something happen and get his career as a Redskin off and running.

Kerrigan, a beast!
